It is an Active Meditation, taking your Mind through it's 8 elements of function.

But - by purposefully engaging these Body-Mind connected processes, the Nervous System Dials Down dramatically - restoring the natural healthy balance to the Nervous System. This can result in profoundly deep relaxation. Whilst Relaxation is not the main intention of this meditation, it's often a lovely side-effect.
The main intention of this practice is you get Up Close & Personal with all the tiny aspects of yourself, experience them and Accept them unconditionally - thus Creating a Rock Solid Relationship with Yourself, an unshakeable Foundation from which to navigate Life.
In iRest we aim to Welcome all feelings, thoughts and sensations whether we like them or feel comfortable with them or not. This can take time and practice - as we're in the habit of puching away, ignoring or laughing off what's really going on with us.
Eventually, we learn to be O.K. with whatever turns up and take action from there. Everything is Welcome in iRest - as everything is a messenger and has some Gold to offer if we just take enough care to look.
